Larry Fitzgerald http://www.authenticsarizonacardinals.com/cheap-corey-peters-jersey , he was uncharacteristically spiking the football after a touchdown that helped his team win for the second time this season. That came in Week Eight as the Cardinals were on a bye last week and they’ll get back to work against the Chiefs this weekend. Predictions of more success for the Cardinals as a team are hard to come by, but Fitzgerald could wind up with an individual mark worthy of applause.Fitzgerald has 15,902 receiving yards for his career and that leaves him 33 yards away from passing Terrell Owens for No. 2 in league history. The veteran said that it’s not something he’s been thinking about this week.“Honestly, I don’t really look at it,” Fitzgerald said Youth Christian Kirk Jersey , via the team’s website. “Honestly.”Jerry Rice is nearly 7,000 yards ahead of Owens and Fitzgerald, so the Cardinals icon’s rise up the list is likely to stop at No. 2. That means he can devote his full attention to helping the team’s win total get beyond two. The Arizona Cardinals next two opponents are on display in tonight’s Monday Night Football matchup. We will get an idea of what the Cardinals will be going against in their next two home games and whether or not we think the Cardinals will be able to be competitive. Here is everything you need to know.Who: Seattle Seahawks (0-1) at Chicago Bears (0-1)Date: Monday, September 17th, 2018Time: 5:15 PM PTChannel: ESPNAnnouncers: Joe Tessitore Black Justin Pugh Jersey , Jason Witten, and Booger McFarland (sideline reporter: Lisa Salters)Radio Announcers: XTRA 910am Kevin Harlan and Kurt Warner on Westwood One National RadioLocation: Soldier Field | Chicago, IllinoisOnline Streaming: NFL Game Pass (delayed broadcast, free 7-Day Trial) | Sling TV | PlayStation Vue | YoutubeTV | WatchESPNThe Cardinals get the Bears in week three and have to face Khalil Mack and the ferocious Bears defense, while having to figure out the Bears offense with Mitch Trubisky and Jordan Howard. The Seahawks seem... laiyongcai92 a posté un sujet dans Discussions GénéralesAndre Smith day-to-day Youth Justin Pugh Jersey , It has been less than a year since Markus Golden tore his ACL against the San Francisco 49ers.Yet, today he was a practice participant for the first time. While head coach Steve Wilks preached patience and said it is unlikely that Golden will return this Sunday, not a surprise, his presence back on the practice field means he is getting closer, which also means the Arizona Cardinals will get a boost along their defensive line. One of the strengths of Golden is not only his tenacious pass rushing ability, but he is adept at playing the run as well.In the Arizona Cardinals first game of the season, it was his presence against the run that was missed the most.Along with Golden’s return, the other injury news is that starting right tackle Andre Smith, and key rotational defensive tackle Olsen Pierre both missed today’s practice.Pierre was limited to four snaps against the Skins, likely because of that injury that kept him on the injury report all last week Cheap Mason Cole Jersey , while Smith left Sunday’s game with an elbow injury.Obviously the MRI came back okay, because Wilks called it day-to-day.Welcome back, Markus and good health moving forward. On the eve of their season opener, the Arizona Cardinals have signed star running back David Johnson to a three-year contract extension.Johnson, who led the NFL in yards from scrimmage and touchdowns two seasons ago but missed all but one game a year ago with a fractured left wrist, had held out during the team's minicamp but expressed optimism during training camp that a deal would get done. The contract, announced by the team in a news release Saturday night, runs through the 2021 season. Arizona opens its season at home against the Washington Redskins on Sunday.Johnson was drafted in the third round out of Northern Iowa in 2016 and figures to be the centerpiece of the offense under new coach Steve Wilks, who wants to emphasize a power running game.Johnson also is a gifted receiver and has set a goal of 1,000 yards rushing and 1 http://www.cardinalsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-mike-iupati-jersey ,000 receiving. Two years ago, the dynamic running back rushed for 1,239 yards and caught 80 passes for 879 yards. He scored 20 touchdowns, 16 rushing and four receiving, earning first-team All-Pro honors. In that breakout year, Johnson became the first player in NFL history to top 100 yards from scrimmage in each of the first 15 games of the season and may have done it in the 16th had he not injured a knee. The injury in last season's opener wiped out the rest of the 2017 and, Johnson acknowledged, reduced his leverage in his hope for a new contract. Johnson would have become a free agent at the end of this season.

There is much to love about what Byron Leftwich is doing as a mentor to Josh Rosen. Make no mistake about it. Leftwich’s affable, hands-on approach is already paying handsome dividends. The rapport between the new OC and new QB1 is fabulous. But, now that Todd Haley has been released from the Cleveland State dawg pound, what about bringing him to Arizona as an offensive consultant?if you believe as I do that Byron Leftwich is being handcuffed by Mike McCoy’s offense—-tapping into Haley’s expertise could be a boon for the Cardinals and Leftwich at this point in time.Haley has always been very good at mixing the run with the pass——look at the way he maximized the talents of Le’Veon Bell the last few years. Imagine what kind of packages Haley could suggest and help choreograph for David Johnson. We know that Haley has always had a strong rapport with Larry Fitzgerald. Adding Haley as a consultant could help to take the Cardinals’ receiving talent to the next level. Would Haley be interested in an advisory role? He still has a house in Arizona. Why not?Would there be ego issues or power struggles between Haley and Leftwich?I don't think there would be—-Byron Leftwich’s popularity amongst the players is not going to change. I think there is a very good chance that he remains the OC in Arizona next year and beyond.I believe that Leftwich would welcome the help, primarily because he has his hands full mentoring Josh Rosen and now coordinating the offense. That's two full time jobs in one.Ideally Leftwich would want BA to turn to and can do so via the phone. But, having an offensive guru like Haley in the building, on the practice field each day and up in the coaches’ box on game days could accelerate Leftwich’s development as a coordinator and play caller. The key is shaping the offense in order to maximize the talents of the personnel—-these next eight weeks are a perfect training ground in order to get the building blocks of the playbook settled for 2019.With that goal in mind, having an architect like Haley on board could allow that main frame to go up days and weeks ahead of schedule. What do you think?
the Raiders finally got back to work as they welcomed the Indianapolis Colts to town.Considering the Raiders traded away one of their top offensive weapons and had to place their most consistent offensive player on the injured reserve they didn’t look like a team that was 1-5 and playing for nothing but pride. At least that was the case through three quarters. The Colts outscored the Raiders 21-0 in the fourth quarter. There were two plays in the fourth quarter that proved to be extremely costly. The first was a terrible punt by Johnny Townsend that gave the Colts a short field to work with. And second was a Doug Martin fumble that crushed any hopes the Raiders had at tying up the game.Let’s take a look at the Raiders week eight report card.Aerial Attack: AAfter hearing all week that his teammates were allegedly losing confidence in him and that he could be next on the trade block Womens Kelechi Osemele Jersey , Derek Carr played an outstanding game.By the numbers Carr was excellent, finishing an efficient 21-28, 244 yards, and three touchdowns.Carr even scored his first career rushing touchdown.Carr threw touchdowns to Jared Cook, Brandon LaFell, and Seth Roberts. The performance by Carr reminded us of what he is capable of doing when he has time and protection to make throws.Jalen Richard led the Raiders with eight receptions for 50 yards.Ground Game: BDoug Martin stepped in for the injured Marshawn Lynch and looked very good doing so.Martin looked explosive, gaining 72 yards on 13 carries. His longest run was a 29 yard jaunt.Unfortunately for Martin many of the good things that he did will be overlooked by the one huge mistake that me made.Trailing 35-28 with 5:17 left in the fourth, on the Raiders first play after the Colts took lead, Doug Martin fumbled the ball ending any hope the Raiders had of tying the game. The Colts would tack on another score and the game would end with a final of 42-28.Offensive Line: AAfter their worst game of the season the offensive line bounced back with a strong performance.Kolton Miller said earlier in the week that he was feeling better, and it showed.Kelechi Osemele was close to a return today but after testing out his sore knee in pregame he was not active for the game.Jon Feliciano started for the second time in place of Osemele. The line allowed zero sacks and only one quarterback hit.If things are to stabilize on offense Womens Justin Ellis Jersey , it all starts upfront with the O-line.Defensive Line: FThis is beginning to get a bit redundant but the defensive line continues to get gashed in the run game and is a non-factor in creating a pass rush. This game may have been the worst performance of the year for the unit as a whole.Marlon Mack picked up a game high 132 yards on 25 carries.Teammate Nyheim Hines added 78 yards on 11 carries. As a team the Colts totaled 222 yards for a 5.6 yard per carry average. The Raiders were not able to generate pressure on Andrew Luck and only registered one quarterback hit.Linebackers: DIt’s hard to recall the last time the Raiders had a linebacker or safety for that matter that could cover a tight end.Andrew Luck had a field day throwing to his tight ends, Jack Doyle, Eric Ebron, and Mo Alie-Cox combined for 10 grabs with 133 yards and three touchdowns.Colts running backs also caught four passes. The linebackers were not responsible for giving up all that production but they surrendered their fair share.Marquel Lee and Tahir Whitehead are serviceable run defenders at best but are huge liabilities in the pass game. After the game Jon Gruden said, “I will continue to play our best players.”With a 1-6 record it would be nice to see Jason Cabinda and Nick Morrow see more action.Secondary: BIf it weren’t for an amazing one handed touchdown catch by Colts tight end, Mo Alie-Cox, it would have otherwise been a pretty solid game by the cornerbacks. On the play, Gareon Conley was in coverage and pretty decent coverage at that but Cox made a highlight reel catch.Besides the tight ends, Colts wide receivers were held to 86 yards on six catches. The safeties really brought down the overall grade for the secondary.Karl Joseph who saw extensive snaps this week is just too small to be matched up against bigger tight ends. The struggles in coverage have been an issue for two years now for Joseph.Special Teams: DNewly signed kicker, Daniel Carlson was made all four of his extra point opportunities. He did not have any field goal opportunities. The main reason for the low grade for the special teams is because of one horrible Johnny Townsend punt.As previously mentioned http://www.oaklandraidersteamonline.com/frostee-rucker-jersey , with the game tied 28-28 and 9:40 remaining, Johnny Townsend had an opportunity to make a big play by pinning the Colts back deep in their own territory.Instead, he botched the punt. The punt went only 25 yards and the Colts would take over on their own 43 yard line.Field position has been an issue for the Raiders all year long, both their starting position as well as the oppositions starting position.Townsend has been a major reason for the struggle.Through seven games he has not shown the ability to be an effective NFL punter.Overall Grade: B- Not much has been working for the Raiders this season. In that regard, Marshawn Lynch has been a saving grace, even though only one win has come from it. He has run hard in every game as you expect him to. This offense is so bad, it’s hard to imagine what it would look like without its best player. From the way Gruden talked today, you might not have to imagine it soon.“Marshawn Lynch, we are concerned about, has a groin strain Authentic Rashaan Melvin Jersey ,” Gruden said.“We will have to update you when we know more. He’s going to be evaluated further but yeah, we are concerned about him and we are also hopeful that we can continue to use him. We will let you know next week.”The 32-year-old back had 45 yards on 13 carries (4.67 yards per carry) and 3 catches for 14 yards against the Seahawks Sunday in London. He played the whole game, even picking up 5 yards on his final carry.Lynch is just one of several Raiders players who are injured at the moment and who could all use the bye week right now.To that end, Gruden said he doesn’t think there are long term implications to Lynch’s groin strain, adding “I don’t want to say anything other than any time a man like this is sore, I’m concerned. We’ll get him checked out and get it to you as soon as possible.”Gruden will speak again next week as the Raiders prepare for their week 8 match-up with the Indianapolis Colts. For now, some much needed rehab for these banged up players.Follow @LeviDamien
for Ryan Switzer which is decent compensation Finally a trade the Raiders made this offseason in which is didn’t feel like they were robbed. Today Jon Gruden revealed the Raiders received a 5th round pick for Ryan Switzer Womens Frostee Rucker Jersey , who the team had acquired during the draft for Jihad Ward. The Raiders also send a 6th rounder to Pittsburgh in the deal. So, essentially the Raiders traded Jihad Ward and a 6th round pick for a 5th round pick. That’s pretty good considering Ward had bust written all over him.Or, if you like, they traded Jihad Ward and a third and sixth round pick for Martavis Bryant and a 5th round pick.Switzer was a 4th round pick just last year Youth Gabe Jackson Jersey , so to nearly receive his original draft value in a trade, despite him not having done anything as a receiver in the NFL is pretty good. It’s refreshing to get good compensation in a trade after all the questionable trades they made in the draft. From getting just a 3rd round pick in their trade down in the first round with the Cardinals so they could get their franchise quarterback, to trading up in the third to get small school project tackle Brandon Parker.Gruden went on to say, the move was made possible because Dwayne Harris had proven his worth to the team Authentic Tahir Whitehead Jersey , mostly on special teams, but also in his ability to play the slot.Follow @LeviDamienRaiders add three to fill out 10-man practice squad With three spots to fill after the initial practice squad signings on Sunday, the Raiders finished filling out the 10-man squad with three additions today.Along with bringing back guard Denver Kirkland, the Raiders added defensive backs Rico Gafford and Terrell Sinkfield.Gafford is an undrafted rookie out of Wyoming. laiyongcai92 a posté un sujet dans Discussions Généralesand Steelers outsideCalvin Ridley Jersey Limited linebacker T.J. Watt may have been the victim of the worst call yet.Watt was rushing against the Falcons today when he made a diving attempt to get to Matt Ryan. As Ryan threw the ball, Watt appeared to just barely graze one of Ryan’s legs. And that was enough to get a roughing the passer call.It was a ridiculous ruling from the officials. Yes, the “Tom Brady rule” implemented in 2009 bans defensive players from hitting quarterbacks low. But Watt didn’t “hit” Ryan low any more than patting someone on the head is akin to punching him in the face. The NFL simply has to get a better handle on what is and is not roughing the passer. Under the inconsistent enforcement we’ve seen this season, defensive players have no clue what they’re allowed to do, and what they’re not allowed to do. Things are starting to come into focus this offseason as far as who is buying, who is selling, and who is doing a little bit of both to fill the holes on their roster. Today, we got a nice little rumor about the Padres going after Noah Syndergaard. Don’t laugh. San Diego is trying! Might as well shoot for the stars while you have the prospects to do it. The rumor Both The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal and SNY’s Andy Martino are reporting that the Padres have expressed in interest in Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard. San Diego pursued Syndergaard at the trade deadline and words like “more aggressive” and “significant trade interest” are being thrown around about the possible deal. Why it makes sense for the Padres Syndergaard is not just a star pitcher who could lead a rotation easily, but he’s that kind of pitcher who is also under team control for the next three seasons at a relatively reasonable cost. MLB Trade Rumors estimates that he’ll be paid $5.9 million in 2019. To call that a deal is an understatement. For the Padres, Syndergaard wouldn’t be the key to immediately competing just like the Eric Hosmer signing wasn’t the key to immediately compete in 2018. But both of those are big pieces that go a long way towards building a contending team in 2020 or 2021 http://www.atlantafalconsteamonline.com/calvin-ridley-jersey , the seasons they are reportedly targeting as the end of their rebuild. Not every one of their top prospects is going to make it to the major league roster, so they’ll have to be flipped for something eventually. Syndergaard, under reasonably priced team control until they plan on contending, is one of the best pieces you could build around, even with his periodic injury issues. Who knows, those injury issues might magically disappear once he’s out of the Mets’ purview. Why it makes sense for the Mets This is a tricky one because no one is exactly sure how agent-turned-GM Brodie Van Wagenen is going to approach the Mets’ talent situation besides that he has hopes to contend. But there are lots of ways to contend! They could keep all of their top pieces, who they have at least through 2019 or 2020, fix some other problem areas, hope for injury luck to lean their way for once, and see what happens in the short term. Or Authentic Julio Jones Jersey , Van Wagenen could push his chips in now and focus on an extension for Jacob deGrom while attempting to flip Syndergaard for top pieces now with the understanding that two long term extensions for star pitchers might not be the smartest or most feasible move. If that’s the strategy, the Padres would make a great trade partner. Their farm system is one of the top, if not the top, prospect pool in the league right now so they certainly have the pieces for Syndergaard and are apparently willing to give them up if they’re going after him aggressively, as reported. It’s just a matter of whether the Mets want to try and get those top prospects now or risk waiting another season or two before flipping him. Rumor gradeB+. The Padres are definitely interested and with new leadership in place we can’t truly know what to expect out of the Mets right away. So it works for both sides the way the rumor is presented now. However, the Mets haven’t come out and said they want to trade Syndergaard at all. It just makes logical sense that they’d do so if they go down that specific strategic path. So if they want to flip him now instead of 2020, the Padres would make an extremely suitable trade partner.
Browns get a win, Bills pull off the crazy upset, Fitzmagic http://www.atlantafalconsteamonline.com/matt-bosher-jersey ends What an exciting and strange Week 3 it has been. We can see the NFL starting to take shape—although I think Week 4 is usually the time when we begin to truly get a grasp on the state of things in the league. Regardless, this week featured crazy upsets, a lot of points, awful officiating re: “roughing” the passer, and a whole bunch more.Didn’t have a chance to catch all those games? Don’t worry, because The Baker is here to bring you all the biggest takeaways from Week 3’s match-ups. Read on for my best takes on everything that happened this week.Browns got their first win in an eternityThis one is a great story. The Browns (1-1-1) appeared to be on their way to yet another loss before rookie QB Baker Mayfield entered the game to replace an injured (and ineffective) Tyrod Taylor. Mayfield looked like the real deal, getting the Browns’ offense on track against the Jets (1-2) and digging them out of a 14-point deficit to get their first win since 2016. Don’t sleep on this Browns team: the offense is improving and the defense is legit. The Bills pulled off an incredible upsetIn perhaps the most surprising outcome of the week, the Bills (1-2) pulled off an incredible upset—on the road—against the Vikings (1-1-1). Buffalo looked like the NFL’s worst team, by far, over the first two weeks. Somehow, the Bills’ defense was dominant and the offense moved the ball relatively easily against the vaunted Vikings defense. File this one away as one of the most unexpected outcomes in recent memory. The 49ers lost QB Jimmy Garoppolo to a torn ACLIn other tragic injury news (best wishes to Ricardo Allen for a speedy recovery), San Francisco (1-2) lost QB Jimmy Garoppolo for the season. Garoppolo tore his ACL on a scramble. That leaves the 49ers with no proven option at QB—the only one left on the roster is 2017 starter C.J. Beathard. It’s an unfortunate turn for a team that had playoff aspirations in Kyle Shanahan’s second year as head coach. The Texans are severely disappointingRemember when the Texans had crazy-high Super Bowl odds? Like, higher than the Falcons? Good times. Now Houston is 0-3, with two of those coming to a mediocre Giants team and a Titans team sans Marcus Mariota. The defense has been disappointing and the porous offensive line has prevented Deshaun Watson from taking full advantage of his weapons. Bill O’Brien might be the first coach fired in 2018.Washington is once again the wild card team of the NFLA week after laying an egg against the Colts, Washington (2-1) came out and blasted the Packers (1-1-1) on both sides of the ball. This team has enormous potential, with a talented defensive line and offense led by the steady QB Alex Smith. They just need to figure out how to play up to that potential consistently. If the past several years are any indication, they’ll do that...sometimes.Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs’ offense continue to rollWhile Mahomes and the Chiefs (3-0) couldn’t quite match their ridiculous offensive output from the first two weeks, they still put up 38 points on the 49ers in Week 3. Mahomes looks like the next great QB in the NFL, which might help finally bring some parity to the top-heavy AFC. That defense, however, remains a big point of concern. At some point, the Chiefs will need that unit to step up.Carson Wentz returns to the EaglesThe Eagles (2-1) got a big boost on offense when star QB Carson Wentz returned to the lineup in Week 3. Philadelphia’s offense is still in bad shape, however, due to a lot of injuries at the skill positions. The Eagles simply lack playmakers at every spot except TE, and it showed against the Colts (1-2). Luckily Womens Brandon Fusco Jersey , Philadelphia’s defense is still elite—and that’ll be enough to keep them afloat until Alshon Jeffery and Jay Ajayi return. The Titans once again pulled off an improbable victoryTennessee (2-1) has now beaten two teams with Blaine Gabbert as their starter. Last week’s victim was the Texans, who have simply started out flat this season. This week, it was the Jaguars (2-1), who had previously looked like the best team in the AFC. I don’t know how they do it, but the Titans keep finding ways to win. They won’t be able to do it forever without Mariota back healthy—but he looked solid after replacing Gabbert (who left with an injury) in this game.Should we be concerned about the Jaguars?Jacksonville scored only 6 points on Sunday against the Titans. That is flat out unacceptable for a team that just beat the Patriots. A week after Bortles had arguably his best game in years, he had an absolute dud against a vulnerable Tennessee secondary. The Jaguars could do absolutely nothing on offense with Leonard Fournette out. Jacksonville has to find a way to win games, especially when their defense holds an opponent to less than 10 points. The Jon Gruden era has gotten off to the start we predictedAfter predicting that Jon Gruden would preside over a dumpster fire in Oakland, we’ve been proven mostly correct. Have the Raiders (0-3) been awful? No, but they have given up three halftime leads. Then you remember that Gruden traded away Khalil Mack because...why exactly? Buckle up for at least 4 years of Gruden’s “old school” brand of football, Raiders fans. The Dolphins are 3-0...what?Perhaps the strangest of all the records after Week 3, the Miami Dolphins have somehow gotten off to a 3-0 start. Does that mean we should start considering them one of the AFC’s best teams? I’d say no...but winning is winning, even if it is against the Titans, Jets, and Raiders. How they perform in Week 4 against a vulnerable Patriots team will tell us a lot.Matt Patricia handed his old team a lossThe Lions (1-2) were certainly in contention for the title of “most disappointing team in the NFL” after an 0-2 start that included an obliteration by the Jets in Week 1. That didn’t stop new head coach Matt Patricia from drawing up a gameplan on defense that pretty much shut down the Patriots (1-2). Detroit’s offense has the weapons to be an elite unit—but they’ll need the defense to play like they did this week if they want to contend in the loaded NFC North.Baker’s Bonus Take: The Fitzmagic has endedThe Steelers (1-1-1) nearly blew their 17-point lead against the Bucs (2-1) on Monday Night Football, but managed to hold on. Unfortunately, those of us who were enjoying FITZMAGIC got a pretty big dose of reality in this game. Fitzpatrick didn’t play terribly, but his three interceptions in the first half (only one was truly his fault) and multiple interception-worthy throws ultimately doomed Tampa Bay in this one. The fearless style he’s developed this season sure is fun to watch, though. What were some of your biggest takeaways from Week 3? Were you excited to see the Browns get their first win in a very long time? Are you sad to see the FITZMAGIC end? Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram all did not reach the end zone against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night. It still didn’t matter.Tommylee Lewis, Austin Carr, Dan Arnold, and Keith Kirkwood – all former undrafted players – were the recipients of four Drew Brees touchdown passes as the New Orleans Saints coasted to a 31-17 victory over the Falcons. The Saints took advantage of four turnovers from the Falcons in improving to 10-1 on the season. While the Saints only converted one of the turnovers into points themselves, all four turnovers came inside the Saints 35-yard line with two coming inside the 5-yard line.Brees completed 15 of 22 passes for 171 yards with four touchdowns and one interception. Kamara and Ingram combined to gain 141 yards on 25 carries as well. The Falcons moved the ball effectively at times, out-gaining the Saints 366-312 on the night. However, Ryan was intercepted by A.J. Klein and lost a fumble, and Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley each coughed up the ball to New Orleans.Ryan passed for 377 yards with touchdowns to Ridley and Tevin Coleman. Jones caught 11 passes for 147 yards for the Falcons. Here are five more things we learned during Thursday Night Football:1. Drew Brees is the MVP front-runner with six weeks left in the regular season.Brees has never won a league MVP award despite being out of the most prolific quarterbacks in league history. That distinction may soon be rectified as Brees is putting up another stellar season leading the Saints to the top spot currently in the NFC playoff picture.Brees is deserving of the award based on the first three months of the season alone. Additionally, if it came down to breaking a tie in decision-making between a Brees or a Patrick Mahomes Womens Desmond Trufant Jersey , Todd Gurley or whomever else would be in the conversation, Brees could get the nod as much on a lifetime achievement award basis as well.Brees became the league’s all-time leading passer earlier this season and tossed his 500th career touchdown pass, becoming just the fourth quarterback in history with that many touchdown passes. He is now second on the all-time touchdowns list behind only Peyton Manning, who had 539 touchdowns in his career.Brees also tied a record by completing touchdowns to 13 different receivers this season. It was a record owned by his opponent Thursday night, Matt Ryan, who accomplished the feat in 2016.2. Saints offense continues to keep Thomas Morstead without much to do.Morestead punted three times on Thursday night. It snapped a seven-game streak of the Saints have two or fewer punts in a game.Morstead has punted just 24 times in 11 games, which puts the Saints just above the pace to have the fewest punts of any team during a 16-game season. The NFL record for a season is 23 punts by the 1982 San Diego Chargers. However, that mark was set in a season cut to just nine games due to a strike. The 1990 Houston Oilers hold the mark for fewest punts in a 16-game season with 34.The Saints are averaging just over two punts (2.18) per game, which puts them on pace to finish with 35 over 16 games.3. Saints 10-game winning streak is second-longest in franchise history. After losing their season opener to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Saints have won their last 10 games to surge to the top of the NFC. The winning streak is the second-longest in franchise history behind only the 2009 Super Bowl season when the Saints began the season 13-0.The 2009 Saints had their winning streak snapped against the Dallas Cowboys in a 24-17 defeat. While that defeat was in New Orleans, the Saints will again play the Cowboys next week in Dallas with a long winning streak on the line.4. Falcons can’t afford the mistakes from their offense.Atlanta’s defense having issues is understandable given the significant losses to that unit due to injuries. Without Ricardo Allen, Keanu Neal and Deion Jones in the lineup, it’s not hard to understand why the Falcons defense is a bit more porous than previous iterations. With that in mind, the Falcons offense has to do more to cover up the deficiencies on the other side of the ball. That’s just not possible when they turn the ball over four times in a game and twice on their opponent’s doorstep.Ryan was sacked and fumbled on a snap taken from the Saints 3-yard line and Ridley was stripped at the 3-yard line after a 27-yard catch and run.The Falcons had six drives that finished inside the Saints 35-yard line and came away with just 17 points on those drives with one of the touchdowns coming in garbage time late. While being without Devonta Freeman, Brandon Fusco and Andy Levitre on offense is also notable, the Falcons offense should be able to produce more consistently. They are averaging just 17.3 points per game over the last three weeks, all losses to New Orleans, Dallas and Cleveland.5. Saints defense is the best among teams with top offenses. While the Saints, Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City Chiefs can all brag about the potency of their offenses, the Saints defense may be the reason ultimately responsible for getting the team back to the Super Bowl.Outside of the shootout with the Rams in Week Nine, the Saints haven’t allowed an opponent to score more than 23 points in a game in their last eight games played. They’ve held opponents to 20 points or less six times in that eight-game stretch with only the Rams (35) and Baltimore Ravens (23) scoring more than 20 points. The Saints are averaging just 19.1 points per game over that span, which would rank third in the league over the entire season. Their 23.3 points per game allowed through 11 games ranks 13th in the league overall through Thursday’s games. The Rams and Chiefs rank 23rd and 28th, respectively. There may not be much separating the offensive abilities of the Saints, Chiefs and Rams. All three teams can put up points with ease and have a number of different players capable of producing in big ways. The difference between the teams may come on the other side of the ball and the Saints unit is playing the best of the bunch.

"Although it started under some difficult circumstances, I like the way they've supported each other. I like the toughness they've shown and I feel like we're starting to play like we're capable of playing."The Falcons iced the win over the Redskins by holding the ball for 10 minutes in the fourth quarter, when Washington didn't score. Quinn said the "ability to finish" was a highlight of the game. With Ben Garland starting for Fusco and Wes Schweitzer continuing in his fill-in starting role for injured left guard Andy Levitre, the new-look offensive line played one of its best games. The Falcons converted 10 of 13 third-down plays and scored touchdowns on two of three red-zone possessions. Matt Ryan threw for 350 yards with four touchdowns and one interception — only his third of the season and his first since a Week 2 win over Carolina.Ryan said the Falcons have improved since losing four of their first five games."I think halfway through we were a better football team than we were at the start Womens Andy Levitre Jersey , and we have to keep it trending in that direction," Ryan said after Sunday's game.Ryan has enjoyed a return to his 2016 form, when he was named the NFL MVP. Led by Ryan, the Falcons have scored touchdowns on 17 of their last 21 red-zone possessions since their opening loss at Philadelphia."I think red zone efficiency has been really good for us," Ryan said. "We didn't do a good job of that in the opener, but since then we've done a pretty good job of that. ... When you're scoring touchdowns and taking care of the ball, that's a good recipe for success."Quinn said seeing Julio Jones finally score his first touchdown of the season "was probably the coolest part of the day" in the win over Washington.Jones' teammates rushed down the sideline to celebrate with him following his 35-yard touchdown pass from Ryan."It was a great experience having the team come out there," Jones said.Quinn said Jones "is the most selfless leader probably that any of us have been around.""They were so excited for him because of all the work he does behind the scenes that people don't know about," Quinn said. "... They know what he stands for as a teammate."Atlanta's daunting injury outlook could be improving. The Falcons already have had defensive tackle Grady Jarrett, who had a sack on Sunday Youth Brian Poole Jersey , return after missing two games with an ankle injury.Jones is eligible to come off IR when the Falcons play Dallas on Nov. 18, though there has been no word on when he'll be cleared from his foot injury. It's not known if Freeman will be able to return from his groin injury when eligible in December.Placekicker Matt Bryant has missed two games with a hamstring injury. More will be known on Wednesday about his chances to return against the Browns. Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt had seven sacks in all of 2017. This year, he has six in five games. The second-year standout picked up a trio of sacks on Sunday against the Falcons. He also forced a fumble and had three separate tackles for loss in a dominant defensive performance for a franchise that desperately needed one.So what has happened? Watt told PFT by phone after the game that the increased sack production has happened as a direct result of his move from the right side to the left side. Although the suggestion came from the coaching staff, Watt said he was “gung ho” about the opportunity, knowing that he’d be more effective from that angle.Watt separately attributed his success to the fact that he has spent time studying not only opposing tackles on film but also himself and other pass rushers, searching for ideas on how to improve his game. And it has worked.Sure, Watt drew a questionable roughing-the-passer penalty on Sunday when he seemed to simply graze the leg of Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan. Watt said he understood that low hits on the quarterback get called, even though he stumbled into Ryan and tried to pull his arms back.“Hopefully it won’t hit me in the pocket,” Watt said. “It sucked to give up 15 yards of field position.”Watt explained that he’s not worrying about potential flags and fines while playing, citing the inconsistency from referee to referee as the basis for just playing football and letting the flags Youth Takkarist McKinley Jersey , and quarterbacks, fall where they may.So far this year, T.J. Watt has caused quarterbacks to fall six times. His brother J.J. Watt has five. Is there a competition between them?“It’s unspoken,” T.J. Watt said, acknowledging that they’re trying to “one-up each other” whenever they can.So does that mean T.J. will be rooting for J.J. not to get any sacks on Sunday night against the Cowboys?“No, never,” T.J. said. “I’ll go home and look for a 99 jersey and I’ll be his biggest fan.”
laiyongcai92 a posté un sujet dans Discussions Généralesin criticism over the Detroit Lions’ current three-game losing streak. The Lions have only scored a total of two touchdowns in the first halves of those games combined Matthew Stafford Jersey , and Stafford’s play has looked downright ugly at times. Over that three game stretch, he’s completed just 65.3 percent of his passes for 6.6 yards per attempt, four touchdowns and three interceptions. That’s a passer rating of just 84.8 (26th) and a PFF grade of 52.5 (28th).But head coach Matt Patricia’s support for his quarterback is unwavering. Patricia says he doesn’t hear the outside criticism from fans and media, and he has the utmost confidence in his quarterback.“We’re blessed to have him as our quarterback. We’re lucky to have him as our quarterback,” Patricia said. “This is a guy that’s extremely tough, he’s extremely competitive Authentic Ziggy Ansah Jersey , a guy that works harder than anyone in the building every single day to get better.”Patricia admits that he’s identified some issues in Stafford’s game over the Lions’ past few weeks, but credits a string of tough defenses and other surrounding factors as the bigger part of the problem.“It’s not really just one thing, it’s been a multitude of different things through the course of the past couple games that have been an issue,” Patricia said, adding that he wasn’t going to get into details. “I’m not going to give you specific details, because there are other people that listen to this stuff. They’re watching the tape Youth Quandre Diggs Jersey , let them figure it out for themselves.” Obviously, there are surrounding issues that have affected Stafford’s play. He’s incurred 16 sacks in the past two games, and his receivers are struggling to find separation. Unfortunately for Detroit and Stafford, the road doesn’t get much easier ahead. Their next three opponents—the Panthers, Bears and Rams—all have some extremely talented defensive players that have given the Lions’ fits in the past. Still, Patricia is confident in a future with Matthew Stafford.“He’s a great quarterback http://www.lionsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-glover-quin-jersey , he works extremely hard. He’s our leader on offense, and we’re going to keep pushing and he’s going to keep leading, which is great for us.” While the Ameer Abdullah era is over in Detroit, the Lions’ former second-round pick will stay in the NFC North. Abdullah did not clear waivers and was claimed by the Minnesota Vikings on Wednesday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The Lions parted ways with Abdullah after re-signing Zach Zenner earlier in the week. Abdullah’s role with the team had been severely limited already, as he was a gameday inactive for all but three games Marvin Jones Jr Jersey , and when he was activated, he was mostly used on special teams. The Lions drafting of Kerryon Johnson pretty much spelled the end of Abdullah’s career in Detroit. Now Detroit’s 2015 second-round pick will be joining a Vikings team that has a young back of their own in Dalvin Cook, who has been fighting his way back from a hamstring injury. It’s unlikely that Abdullah goes in and gets significant playing time with the Vikings right away, but it will be interesting to see how the Lions’ divisional rival utilizes Abdullah going forward.

At Pride of Detroit here, we like to joke about the Detroit Lions’ recent record against the Chicago Bears. We’ve tried to popularize the hashtag #WeOwnTheBears, based on the Lions’ 9-1 record against the Bears over the past five seasons. But it certainly seems like the fun and games could come to an end very soon. The Lions will play the Bears twice in the span of 11 games, and right now Chicago undeniably looks like the better team. Sure, they have yet to notch that season-defining win, but at 5-3, they’re atop the division and clearly headed in the right direction as a franchise.Meanwhile, we all know what’s happening with the Lions, and the 2018 season seems to be on life support. So today’s Question of the Day is:What will the Lions’ record be in the two Bears games this season? My answer: Logically speaking, there’s no reason the Bears shouldn’t win both games. However Youth Quandre Diggs Jersey , this rivalry has been wacky and close recently. Of the past 10 contests, eight of them have been decided by one score. And let’s not forget just how unpredictable this Lions team has been thus far this season. Many fans pegged them as dead after losing in the first two weeks of the season. However, they followed that up by taking it to the New England Patriots. Not many gave them a chance against the Packers a couple weeks later, and Detroit not only defeated their division foes, but followed it up with their best overall performance against the Dolphins.Still, it’s hard to see how Detroit comes away with a win based on the way they are playing right now. But logic hasn’t been able to explain this team properly, so I’m going with 1-1, even though I don’t have any real reason to think that.Your turn.
A lot of us expected the Bears to win.The way the Lions lost Color Rush Christian Jones Jersey , however, is completely demoralizing. It’s an embarrassment to the fans, the city, and the players themselves. I came into this season with a lot of hope, as did many of my fellow Lions fans. That hope is all but gone now, and the cynic in me wants me to stop watching these games. Football is supposed to be entertainment, but as I watch the Lions struggling in every facet, I really can’t call them entertainment. At this point, it’s an addiction. It has a negative consequence on my health. I’m cradling a vodka bottle, blinds shut, sitting alone in a dark room wondering “Why?” Why can’t this offense thrive despite a lot of talent? Why does this defense look like they’re playing tag and not tackle football? Why isn’t the front office making enough moves to improve this team? Why did I volunteer to write this week’s stock report?I am forgoing the tradition of alliterative stock report titles. This game doesn’t deserve anything fun.Stock Up: Damon Harrison, DTHarrison continues to be the best defender on the Detroit Lions. Since his acquisition, the interior of the defensive line has been incredibly stout. The Bears running backs were held to below 3.0 yards per carry, despite leading most of the game. In previous weeks, the Lions have actually been quite decent against the run—a majority of the yardage has come on one or two large runs, which were usually a result of the linebackers failing to tackle. Unfortunately, Harrison doesn’t offer as much as a pass rusher, which has been a significant flaw for the defense.Stock Down: Nevin Lawson, CBThe Lions secondary continues to be a nightmare to deal with... for Lions fans. Darius Slay didn’t suit up due to injury, and that left Lawson as the No. 1 corner on the day.It was not a good day.Lawson’s coverage was severely lacking. Bears receivers Allen Robinson and Anthony Miller went over 100 yards. Mitchell Trubisky had a career high in yardage. While the secondary as a whole was awful, Lawson was the headline. Pass interference penalties have been a problem for Lawson in his career, and he had another in the end zone that led to a touchdown. The Lions badly need a CB2 across from Slay. Otherwise, this defense will continue to get torched.Stock Up: Kerryon Johnson, RBThe Lions offense has been very dysfunctional in recent weeks. Johnson, however, has not been a reason. Johnson was bottled up rushing against Seattle and Minnesota, and while his 51 yards and a rushing touchdown against the Bears isn’t overly impressive, he displayed some excellent vision and burst, despite suffering an ankle injury earlier in the week. Kerryon is getting more involved in the passing game as well, registering six catches for 38 yards and a touchdown. He continues to be the Lions most effective weapon on offense.Stock Down: Jarrad Davis, LBInconsistency has been a huge issue for Davis this season. He had an excellent game versus Miami, while performing decently against Dallas and Seattle. On the other end of the spectrum, his games against New England and Minnesota were disastrous.Sadly, the Bears game was one of Davis’ worst performances. Coverage continued to be an issue for him. Tackling is always a challenge. For once, discipline was also a huge factor. Davis took an idiotic penalty by shoving Trubisky despite the quarterback clearly being out of bounds. Coupled with a poor job of pursuit Youth Frank Ragnow Jersey , Davis took the mantle from Teez Tabor of worst 2017 draft pick of the day.Stock Up: Cody Parkey, KPeople will argue that Parkey was bad today. I disagree. Parkey was incredibly precise. He managed to hit the upright four times on his kicks. Each post is six inches wide. Parkey managed to hit a post from 33 yards (twice), 34 yards, and 41 yards. If you asked an NFL kicker to hit the uprights four times in one game, I doubt they could do it. This was a performance for the record books for Parkey.Wait, what do you mean Parkey isn’t a Detroit Lion?Stock Up: Zach Zenner, RBIt was an incredible day for Zach Zenner. Re-signed on November 6, Zenner was primed for a resurgence with the Lions. Ameer Abdullah, his longtime teammate, was waived in his stead. Not only was he competing for a roster spot, but he was competing to prove that he was worthy of his friend’s.Zenner made an impact on special teams, recording a tackle... I think. It might have been credited to someone else. But my heart credits him with the tackle. Zenner was also the most efficient runner on the day for the Lions, with an amazing 12 yards per carry average. He also had the longest run of the day for the Lions. This man can do it all.Quick HitsStock Up No Change:After such a disappointing result, I can’t justify giving many players a stock up. Even if they did play well, this season is almost over. While I cannot speak for the players, I have to imagine that morale is low.Theo Riddick, RB: The Lions have been using Riddick as their Golden Tate replacement, to mixed results. Though he posted a decent six-catch, 60-yard performance, he is not as effective as Tate was, specifically at gaining yards after catch. Riddick’s best role is as a mismatch weapon against linebackers, not corners.Kenny Golladay, WR: Golladay emerged from a three week hibernation to post a solid 78 yards on six catches and a touchdown. Unfortunately, he and the Lions offense failed to make much of an impact in the first half.A’Shawn Robinson, DT: Much like Damon Harrison, Robinson was largely effective as a run defender. He and Snacks have made an excellent duo, and the big man has rebounded well from an early season benching. However, he suffered an ankle injury. We’ll see what happens.Da’Shawn Hand, DE: Hand had the lone sack for the Lions, and he continues to be a steal of a fourth-round pick.Darius Slay, CB: Slay was inactive due to an injury, but I’ll consider this a positive: he didn’t have to suffer through this game. Give him extra time to heal. This team isn’t going anywhere, so there’s no point rushing your stars.Quandre Diggs, DB: Diggs was the Lions’ best member of the secondary against the Bears. He had an excellent play where he broke up a would-be touchdown. Essentially no one on this Lions team has made plays like that.Charles Washington, S: Washington hasn’t made an impact on defense this season (which you could argue is a good thing) Youth Ziggy Ansah Jersey , but he made a superb play on special teams. When the Lions attempted an onside kick, Washington managed to swat the ball away from the return man, which Nick Bellore promptly fell on.Matt Prater, K: He made a solid 52-yarder, but unlike Parkey, he did not manage to hit any uprights.Stock down:Everyone else: I am doing something different for this stock report, but hear me out.The team’s struggles against the Bears were not due to a single player. There is no “i” in “team,” nor is there an “i” in “stock down.” There are individual moments that accumulate into the conglomerate mess that was the 34-22 loss to the Bears. The offensive line is allowing numerous sacks.Glover Quin is looking incredibly slow.Sam Martin is shanking punts—and leaving on an ambulance.LeGarrette Blount is failing to do anything with the football.Tavon Wilson and DeShawn Shead are getting burnt in the secondary.Romeo Okwara and Devon Kennard are failing to put consistent pressure on quarterbacks.Lions tight ends struggle to make plays, while Eric Ebron thrives in Indianapolis. This game was a failure from everyone, even the players I gave a stock up to. Even though it ended as just a 12-point game, it was a classic instance of the Lions falling behind early, only to put up points when the game is out of reach. The Lions can’t win games by playing like this.CoachesMatt Patricia, Head Coach: Stock DownJim Bob Cooter, Offensive Coordinator: Stock DownPaul Pasqualoni, Defensive Coordinator: Stock DownJoe Marciano, Special Teams Coordinator: FiredOnce again, I am going to cheat because the coaching needs to be address as a unit. Earlier this week, we saw the first head roll, as Joe Marciano was fired. The Lions don’t technically have a replacement coordinator, instead opting for a makeshift staff primarily led by offensive assistant coach Derius Swinton. This is a Lions team that has not shown improvement. Issues that were apparent in the devastating losses to the Jets, 49ers, Cowboys, and Seahawks, and Vikings are still prevalent—if anything, they’ve gotten worse. The play calling on offense has been lackluster, to put it politely. The defense has been so, so, SO incredibly frustrating to watch. There was one play where Anthony Miller was so wide open that his head did a 270 degree scan to see where the defenders were. It is mind-numbing that a professional football team can look so entirely clueless. Special teams were decent compared to recent weeks, but that is more of a statement regarding how poor they were playing. They managed one special teams penalty this week, and while this is an improvement, it is still a troubling sign. Meanwhile, when considering a 55-yard field goal, one member of the kicking unit was late, so the Lions called a timeout. The Lions then opted to punt, pinning the Bears at the 9. They promptly went 91 yards for a touchdown. Even the successful onside kick was not without complication—that was actually the second attempt at an onside kick Color Rush Graham Glasgow Jersey , since the previous failed attempt was nullified due to an illegal formation on Diggs that was offset by Miller intentionally batting the ball out of bounds. In the end, all of this should fall on the shoulders of the head coach. Matt Patricia has not been able to resurrect this team. Jim Caldwell was fired from a 9-7 team because the organization wanted to do better. They wanted playoff success. Half a season through the Patricia era, it doesn’t seem like that will happen. I’m not condemning him yet—after all, some of the blame can be attributed to the team Bob Quinn has assembled. However, we need to see some form of improvement. This is rock bottom. First things first, if you’re unfamiliar with our roundtable or how it works, check out our archive and some of our most recent discussions from this season:Who is the most valuable draft pick of Bob Quinn’s tenure as Lions GM?Are the Lions contenders or pretenders in the race for the NFC North crown?Does the addition of Damon Harrison make Detroit a playoff team? Was trading Golden Tate the right move?In Week 9’s contest against the Minnesota Vikings, the Detroit Lions offensive line was sieve.10.0 sacks. Ten. Ten of them. After protecting Matthew Stafford like few other teams have protected their quarterback this season, Detroit’s pass protection was abysmal, atrocious, abominable. Over twenty years of watching Lions football, I’ve never experienced anything like this.On paper, the Lions offense should be one of the most productive units in the NFL. On film, it’s looking like one of the most uninspired, unimaginative offenses in comparison to the other attacks in the league.Ew.And this leads us right into our discussion for this week:Will Detroit’s offense recapture its groove under Jim Bob Cooter?Ryan Mathews: So more specifically, will the Lions passing offense bounce back to the type of productive attack it was from yesteryear? Since his first full season as offensive coordinator, JBC’s offense has finished in the top half of the league in all of the major passing categories.Halfway through this season, the Lions offense is lifeless, ranking in the bottom half of the league in both yards and points, and the matchups aren’t going to get much easier; Detroit’s getting the most efficient defense by DVOA’s measure, the Chicago Bears, twice in the next four weeks, the trending-up Carolina Panthers, and the Los Angeles Rams to ring in the holiday season.I don’t see it happening.Mansur Shaheen: Probably not. The offense has never been able to find consistency with Jim Bob Cooter as play caller and it’s hard to imagine anything will get better without Golden Tate. Detroit’s offense was supposed to be among the league's elite this year, but as Ryan said, they are nowhere near the top in every relevant statistical category. Whether it’s the fault of Cooter, Matthew Stafford or the offensive line, this offense is in shambles at the moment. And it probably will be for a majority of the remainder of the season. Kent Lee Platte:So we've all complained about Cooter at some point. Whether it's design or play calling, everyone has found fault with something. The thing is, he's been far better in 2018 than he was in previous years, developing plays out of different alignments and making use of a diverse set of skill players. Things were looking up. The Vikings game was inexcusable from an offensive standpoint, however, and all the bad memories of Cooter came rushing back. There's a better than zero chance that Cooter is gone in 2019 regardless of how the rest of the season plays out, but with the defense improving despite a lack of talent and the offense sputtering despite talent volume, Cooter's head is firmly on the block and I'm not sure he knows how to get out of it.Jeremy Reisman: The Lions offense—while never spectacular—made some real strides in the first third of the season. The offensive line improvement we saw early on was real Youth Marvin Jones Jr Jersey , as was the drastic rushing attack improvement.Unfortunately, it hasn’t resulted in what matters the most: scoring touchdowns. The Lions remains an average-at-best team in the red zone, and that’s ultimately where the failures of Jim Bob Cooter are magnified. John Whiticar: I wouldn’t even call the Lions a mediocre red zone team, which is really surprising given the arsenal at our disposal: Golladay is 6-foot-4, Marvin is 6-foot-2, Blount is 247 pounds. Coupled with tight ends Michael Roberts (6-foot-5), Luke Willson (6-foot-5), and Levine Toilolo (6-foot-8), it’s shocking how badly the Lions are bullied in the red zone. Settling for field goals is going to ruin your chances of winning, and the Vikings game is a prime example. I think a lot of this falls on the shoulders of Cooter. I don’t necessarily want them to run another Phill—I mean Detroit Special, but the Lions need to deliver killing blows.Reisman: That being said, I think there are two reasons for optimism in regards to offensive improvement: Matthew Stafford regressing back to his mean and defensive improvement. Let me explain. In the past two years, Stafford has been one of the most consistent quarterbacks in the league. He’s taken care of the ball, completed well over 65 percent of his passes, and seemed to settle into his “veteran quarterback” status. That has not been the case this season. Stafford has regressed this year, but I have no reason to believe this will stand. He will get better. As for the defensive improvement, I truly believe we’re seeing incremental progress on that side of the ball. Damon Harrison Sr. has undoubtedly made the run defense better, and if they can get rid of the big plays, they’ll be able to actually give the offense the ball back every now and then—and hopefully with good field position every once in a while. The schedule looks daunting and the upcoming opposing defenses are tough. I don’t expect a huge turnaround on offense, but I do expect it to look better than it was against the Vikings. Mathews: If it doesn’t look better than it did in Week 9 against the Vikings, does Cooter stick around through the remainder of this season? We’ve seen the Lions move on from one coordinator so far when they fired special teams coach Joe Marciano on Monday. Could JBC suffer a similar fate if things don’t turn around?Andrew Kato: Everyone above has focused on either the people calling the plays or making the play, but I want to go back to something Jeremy said early on: the improvement in the offensive line in the first quarter of the season was real and the team had a ground game. The issue that has been exposed in the recent Seattle and Minnesota games is that the team no longer has that offensive line on the field. Right guard T.J. Lang is an outstanding player, but injuries have once again forced the Lions to either sit him or ease him back into the games slowly on a rotational basis with Kenny Wiggins. Teams are paying attention to personnel and blowing up plays whenever Lang is not in the game. The other injury issue is with left tackle Taylor Decker, who was replaced for a bit at the end of the Seattle game by Tyrell Crosby due to a back issue. I am not going to get into it in detail here, but suffice it to say that the Minnesota game is the worst I have ever seen from Decker. The guy was limited all week and it showed; something is (or at least was) seriously wrong with him.Reisman: “I am not going to get into it in detail here.” You tease, Kato. Kato: We’ll get to that later - anyway, I don’t think our readers need a reminder of what happened last year when the offensive line was crushed by injuries down the stretch. Horrible blocking at crucial times by reserves eliminated the Lions from the playoffs and got a head coach (and offensive line coach) fired. I would not be surprised if it gets an offensive coordinator fired. Unless the offensive line somehow magically became completely healthy again, it would shock me to see above average offensive production at any point going forward.Reisman: But mostly because they traded Golden Tate, right? I need a reason to be angry at a person. It’s a lot less fun being angry at injury luck. Kato: Oh, that surely did not help. At all.

Did anything change for them this week?Arizona Cardinals Week 5 defensive snap counts and observationsThere were a couple of notable changes in the defensive rotation on Sunday against the 49ers. It’s no surprise that Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson broke his silence on Wednesday, two days after rampant reporting and speculation about his future. Peterson renewed his vows with the team that drafted him in 2011 only after it became abundantly clear that no other team would be making the Cardinals an offer they can’t refuse. So it’s over. Until next year.Unless the Cardinals are in contention six or seven weeks in to the 2019 season http://www.arizonacardinalsteamonline.com/phil-dawson-jersey , Peterson’s name once again will emerge, making him the successor to Joe Thomas as the annual subject of “will he be traded?” talk. There’s a big difference in this case, however. Peterson has only two years left under contract with the Cardinals, at compensation packages of $11 million in 2019 and $12.3 million in 2020. If Peterson is going to be a member of the franchise for years to come, a new contract will be coming, at some point. Otherwise, he’ll be a free agent in 2021 — or he’ll be traded for draft picks or younger players in either of the next two years.

It’s impossible to continue to say “have” in that regard, given that Denver has surrendered nearly 600 rushing yards over the past two games http://www.arizonacardinalsteamonline.com/andre-smith-jersey , including a pair of 200-plus-yard rushers in Isaiah Crowell and Todd Gurley. So what’s the problem with the Denver defense? Chris Simms explained on Thursday’s PFT Live that he noticed some issues with the scheme in the game against the Jets, including expecting a middle linebacker to simultaneously cover the tight end and plug the gap between the center and the guard. Simms thinks the Jets cracked the proverbial code of the Denver defense in running roughshod over the Broncos.Coach Vance Joseph sees it a different way, nudging the blame away from the design of the defense and toward the players implementing it.鈥淕uys have to want to tackle, that鈥檚 all I鈥檓 going to say about that,鈥?Joseph said earlier this week, via the Denver Post. And then he said more.鈥淚t鈥檚 a want-to thing,” Joseph added. “You can drill tackling all you want. While it’s possible to blame G.M. John Elway for collecting a group of players who are, as Elway recently said, “very soft” against the run, Elway isn’t likely to acknowledge that he has put together a group of Stay-Puft Marshmallow Men. Especially Elway is also the guy who’ll decide whether or not the coach should stay or go.

Wilks fits right in with that tendency, as his Carolina unit blitzed five rushers more frequently than any other team in the league. As a result, Peterson is very used to having to hold up on his own on the outside waiting for the pressure to get home. In a zone scheme, it can be easier for an offense to dial up plays to keep their top receivers away from the opposing team’s top cornerback. With how Arizona performed against No. 1 receivers this past season (23rd in DVOA overall Womens Customized Arizona Cardinals Jerseys , though not through anything Peterson did wrong), allowing offenses to scheme Peterson away from their top target could be a big problem. Peterson himself has been on record as being excited about the change to a simpler scheme, so it definitely sounds like he is personally expecting a big year. He won’t be in press coverage as frequently, and that could help him collect more pass breakups and interceptions. There may be a bit of an adjustment period compared to how he has lined up for most of his career, but a cornerback with Peterson’s talent can flourish in just about any role. The new scheme for the Cardinals could be a game changer for Peterson and help extend his career, what do you think?
needs to learn ‘more patience’ For a Seth Roberts Jersey majority of Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins, Derek Carr was sharp pushing the ball downfield and finding open receivers. Even his first interception may have resulted in a long completion had receiver Amari Cooper not stopped running his route. Though it can be argued Carr could have thrown the pass sooner as well. Two weeks ago Gruden expressed that Carr wasn’t aggressive enough against the Rams after he missed an open Amari Cooper downfield multiple times. “You look at the film, we had him wide open deep,” Gruden said after the season opener. “We didn’t go there. He was open a couple of times and for whatever reason we didn’t go that route.”On Carr’s other interception against the Dolphins, he had the opposite problem. With the game was on the line with just minutes left in the fourth quarter, and the Raiders lined up in first down at the Miami 13-yard-line, Carr threw a jump ball for the end zone for Martavis Bryant and it was picked off by Xavian Howard. That decision by Carr likely that cost the Raiders the game, striking a different tone from Gruden.“I thought we were too aggressive. The outcome sucks; but I think going back through in my head, getting one-on-one with that guy I’d probably have to do it again.”There were a lot of smarter decisions on that play. With Miami unable to find an answer to the rushing attack, Carr could have handed the ball off rather than take a shot against Howard. These are plays both Gruden and Carr would like to have back. laiyongcai92 a posté un sujet dans Discussions GénéralesThe trade of Ryan Switzer to the Steelers today opened up a roster spot, and the Raiders wasted no time signing a player to fill it. Instead of picking up one of the myriad mediocre quarterbacks available or Womens Kelechi Osemele Jerseymaybe a bad offensive tackle, they instead picked up a cornerback.Carter was initially signed by the Cardinals last year as an undrafted free agent. He attended Trinity International University in Illinois and recorded 156 tackles, 30 interceptions and 28 passes defensed at the NAIA level. The Raiders must have had this guy on their radar to pick him up so quickly, which proof that there is nowhere on Earth you can play where Raiders scouts won’t find you.Carter is probably nothing more than a camp body, but he will certainly be doing his best to stand out in the Raiders’ fourth preseason game to show out for other teams who need help at corner- and there are always plenty of teams like that.Predicting Raiders 53-man roster, practice squad for 2018 We’re midway through the preseason and approximately two weeks from when the Raiders and every other NFL team must trim their roster from 90 players down to 53 on the active roster and as many as 10 on the practice squad. Each team will be cutting 37 players from the roster. That’s a lot of decisions to make. Many of which won’t be easy. It certainly wasn’t easy to predict them. With some 1184 players who will not be on their team’s roster come the cutdown day, the Raiders will be scanning the waiver wire to make more moves. They will also likely be placing a few players on injured reserve. And if they hope to designate any of them for return, they must be placed on IR after the cutdown day, at which point they could then bring back any players they cut who cleared waivers should they choose to do so.Here is how I see the 53-man roster shaking out:Quarterbacks In: Derek Carr, EJ Manuel, Connor CookOut: N/ARunning backsIn: Marshawn Lynch, Doug Martin, Jalen Richard, Keith Smith (FB)Out: Chris Warren III, DeAndre Washington, James Butler Womens Justin Ellis Jersey , Ryan Yurachek Wide receivers In: Amari Cooper, Jordy Nelson, Martavis Bryant, Ryan Switzer, Dwayne Harris, Marcell AtemanOut: Seth Roberts (trade?), Johnny Holton, Griff Whalen, Keon Hatcher, Isaac Whitney, Saeed BlacknallTight ends In: Lee Smith, Jared Cook, Derek Carrier Out: Paul Butler, Pharaoh Brown, Marcus BaughOffensive linemenIn: Donald Penn, Kelechi Osemele, Rodney Hudson http://www.oaklandraidersteamonline.com/frostee-rucker-jersey , Gabe Jackson, Kolton Miller, Jon Feliciano, David Sharpe, Brandon Parker, Jordan SimmonsOut: Breno Giacomini (IR), Jylan Ware, Ian Silberman, Denver Kirkland, Oday Aboushi, James Stone, Cameron HuntDefensive linemenIn: Khalil Mack, Bruce Irvin, Mario Edwards Jr, Justin Ellis, Maurice Hurst, PJ Hall Authentic Rashaan Melvin Jersey , Arden Key, Tank Carradine, Shilique CalhounOut: Eddie Vanderdoes (IR), Treyvon Hester, Fadol Brown, Frostee Rucker, Gabe Wright, Shakir SotoLinebackersIn: Tahir Whitehead, Derrick Johnson, Emmanuel Lamur, Marquel Lee, Nicholas Morrow, Kyle WilberOut: James Cowser, Azeem Victor, Jason CabindaCornerbacksIn: Gareon Conley, Rashaan Melvin, Nick Nelson Cheap Kolton Miller Jersey , Daryl Worley, Antonio HamiltonOut: Leon Hall, Shareece Wright, Dexter McDonald, Raysean Pringle, Antwuan DavisSafetiesIn: Reggie Nelson, Karl Joseph, Marcus Gilchrist, Erik Harris, Shalom LuaniOut: Obi Melifonwu (IR), Quincy Mauger, Dallin Leavitt, Special teamers In: Eddy Pineiro, Johnny Townsend, AndrewDaPaolo Out: Mike NugentPractice squadRB Chris Warren IIIWR Johnny HoltonTE Paul ButlerOL Ian SilbermanOL Denver KirklandDE Fadol BrownDT Treyvon HesterLB James CowserLB Azeem VictorS Dallin LeavittFollow @LeviDamien

The offensive line, in particular struggled badly.Without Donald Penn and Kelechi Osemele active for the game Authentic Tahir Whitehead Jersey , Jon Feliciano and rookie third round pick Brandon Parker got the start. With the loss the Raiders fall to 1-4.Let’s take a look at the Raider week five report card.Aerial Attack: CAll things considered, two rookie tackles and a back up guard starting on the offensive line, on paper the numbers look ok.Carr finished the day 24-33, with 268 yards and one touchdown.Major points were taken off for a back breaking interception late in the third quarter. On the Chargers one yard line, Jon Gruden called a play action fake to Marshawn Lynch.Carr’s primary option was not open, Carr trying to make something out of nothing tried to make a play and the ball ended up in the hands of Melvin Ingram. After the game Jon Gruden defended his play call. “We haven’t thrown the ball in a goal to go situation all year. It’s first and goal, the decision there is to throw it and if it’s not open you throw it away.”Derek Carr has a history of at times trying to do too much, this season has been no different.“I think he just presses in some moments, he knows we have to do a lot with the ball when we have it and I think that’s what happened today http://www.oaklandraidersteamonline.com/johnny-townsend-jersey ,” said Gruden.Amari Cooper and Jordy Nelson combined for five catches for 53 yards. Ground Game: FThe running game was a non factor today. The blame can be shared between the offensive line being ineffective and game flow.Marshawn Lynch was only given nine opportunities to carry the ball.As a team the Raiders carried the ball 13 times for 44 yards.Offensive Line: DStarting two rookies at tackle and a back up at guard were taking into consideration when evaluating their performance.Even with the inexperience along the line today the performance was not good.Carr was sacked three times, all three were given up by Kolton Miller. Also keep in mind, Joey Bosa did not play.In addition to poor run blocking, allowing pressures, the offensive line also committed several pre snap penalties which turned manageable third down situations into third and longs. Defensive Line: B+The boxscore numbers might not be indicative of the defensive lines production but this was one of their better performances overall.Bruce Irvin picked up his third sack of the season.Rookies Maurice Hurst, PJ Hall, and Arden Key all had an impact on the game.PJ Hall had a tackle for loss as well as a deflected pass and Hurst had another pass deflected.Arden Key is continuing to improve as a pass rusher, it’s only a matter of time before he begins to rack up some sacks. The Raiders defense held the Chargers to 79 yards rushing on 31 carries for a 2.5 yards per carry.Linebackers: CTahir Whitehead led the defense in tackles with nine but it was the tackle he did not make that had the biggest impact on the game.Austin Ekeler took a screen pass 40 yards for a touchdown, Whitehead whiffed badly on the play which allowed Ekeler to take it to the house.Big plays have plagued the Raiders all year long.Secondary: D-Phillip Rivers had his way with the Raiders secondary Womens Gabe Jackson Jersey , completing 81 percent (22 of 27) of his passes for 339 yards and two touchdowns.Going into the game the Raiders defense ranked seventh in explosive pass plays allowed. An explosive play is defined as any pass play that is completed for 20 yards or more.Today the Chargers completed passes of 26, 34, 44, and 48.Early in the game the secondary made some plays to get off the field on third down but in the second half that was not the case.Special Teams: BUnlike last week the special teams were a non factor in the game.Dwayne Harris returned two kickoffs for 44 yards.Matt McCrane was made one of two field goal attempts. His miss was a long 57 yard attempt 11 seconds before the half.Overall Grade: D
laiyongcai92 a posté un sujet dans Discussions Généralestension in Atlanta Since Steve Sarkisian arrived in Atlanta http://www.authenticsatlantafalcons.com/cheap-matt-bryant-jersey , there have been incessant questions about the Falcons’ offense not being able to come close to matching their 2016 form. Losing a play caller as special as Kyle Shanahan was always going to create a difficult adjustment period. Nobody anticipated that it would take an entire season for the offense to find their footing. The long periods of being disjointed, predictable, and one-dimensional were evident in 2017. Although one game doesn’t determine a team’s outlook, it can cultivate how a team operates moving forward. That’s how the Falcons should be approaching their next game following yesterday’s excellent win. What they did against a very good Carolina defense should be universally praised. For the first time under Sarkisian, they played a near-flawless game. There were moments of a cohesive offense playing at a high-level in wins over Green Bay, Dallas, and Seattle. For all their success, none of those victories showed them truly imposing their will. This was the first game under Sarkisian, where they dictated the pace of the game against a high-caliber opponent. It was a stunning performance between using creative variations of play action, attacking Carolina on the outside, and giving Matt Ryan more than enough time in the pocket to make sharp throws.Responding from adversityExcluding the injury crisis surrounding the team, there were two major questions going into the home opener. How would Ryan fare after one of the worst performances of his career? The same question applied to Sarkisian, who was nationally ridiculed for his play calling in the red zone and overall personnel usage. Both were at the forefront of another Falcons’ loss in Philadelphia. Finding any sort of rhythm against Carolina was vital, especially with the defense enduring the loss of two players that essentially shape their identify as a unit. They both made the necessary adjustments to pick apart one of the better defenses in the league.Ryan erased doubts about his arm strength and accuracy with a terrific showing. The former MVP looked dialed in from the first snap. With the threat of Ron Rivera preparing a cocktail of blitzes, he made quicker decisions and threw precise passes. To only throw five incompletions following such a disastrous performance in Philadelphia is extremely impressive. He got into a rhythm with the likes of Calvin Ridley and Austin Hooper being more involved. That allowed him to exploit Carolina’s heavy zone scheme, particularly when using play action. Ryan looked as comfortable as ever moving from side to side. When he had to use his feet past the line of scrimmage, the perennially under-appreciated athletic quarterback showed what he is made of by leaping into the end zone.On the other side of the Falcons’ conundrum, Sarkisian called one of his finest games as an offensive coordinator. There were a greater sense of directness and ruthlessness that had been lacking. Instead of getting overly fancy or being too reliant on Julio Jones, he focused on targeting mismatches and playing at a higher tempo. Sarkisian made it a point of emphasis to get Ridley more involved earlier in the week. That was on full display by spreading him out wide and giving him space to operate against Carolina’s overmatched corners. Ridley showcased his outstanding footwork and route-running ability during the entire game. Accelerating past Donte Jackson on a wicked slant for his first career touchdown set the tone for the offense’s rebound game. From using Ridley on slants and shallow crosses to sticking with outside-zone based runs Black Deion Jones Jersey , Sarkisian orchestrated a highly efficient attack. The offense doesn’t normally struggle putting together drives. Converting on third down (fifth-best in the league last year) and picking up quick yardage wasn’t challenging for them. It was when they got into the red zone, where pure chaos ensued. That wasn’t the case in yesterday’s four-for-four master class. Using a hi-lo concept created space for Hooper to take the inside release and score on a corner route. When lining up near the goal line, Sarkisian didn’t waste time and called a sneak for Ryan to squeeze his way into the end zone. Carolina’s front seven is one of the top units in the league. Trying to outmuscle them using long drawn-out plays wasn’t going to be effective. They needed to work in a quick, decisive manner after failing to do so against Philadelphia. The beleaguered offensive coordinator finally found the right ingredients in a well-balanced game plan to help the offense play up to their capabilities. Winning up frontDuring the Falcons’ last two defeats in Philadelphia, there was one reoccurring theme that got lost in the shuffle. The offensive line was overwhelmed for the majority of both games. They couldn’t create many holes in the running game or keep the pocket clean for Ryan to survey the field. Andy Levitre and Alex Mack couldn’t individually or collectively contain Fletcher Cox. According to Pro Football Focus, Ryan Schraeder allowed a staggering nine pressures after only surrendering 20 in total last season. Not being able to hold your own in the trenches will not only affect your quarterback, but also affect the offensive coordinator’s thought process when dialing up plays.Carolina’s front four isn’t nearly as good as Philadelphia’s ridiculously deep group. They still possess a solid nucleus led by Kawann Short and Mario Addison. Per ESPN on 28 drop backs, Ryan wasn’t sacked once and only hit twice. Schraeder bounced back nicely, particularly in the running game. Brandon Fusco is proving to be a steady right guard, which is something the Falcons have lacked for years. They were at the forefront of opening numerous running lanes for Tevin Coleman and Ito Smith to make defenders miss at the second level. The offensive line made a major statement against one of the NFL’s legitimate stout front sevens. After Luke Kuechly made multiple stops in the first quarter, they started locating him to give the running backs space to maneuver into the open field. Wes Schweitzer played admirably well in replacing Andy Levtire. Alongside Jake Matthews, they made some quality combination blocks to spring Smith free to the second level, where he made Carolina suffer with his tremendous footwork and shiftiness. By making the necessary blocks up front and getting timely contributions from Mohamed Sanu and Justin Hardy, the running game played a significant part in the offense’s 2016-esque performance.Defensive frailties What should have been a convincing victory became too close for comfort in the end. Although the offense should have ended the game better, it would be foolish to overlook some of the defensive breakdowns. They failed to generate pressure with a four-man rush during long portions of the game. As Cam Newton started getting into a groove, they struggled to get near him. Grady Jarrett could only do so much as the lone interior threat. Vic Beasley was kept quiet once again, while Takkarist McKinley only showed up in flashes. To not create more pressure against predominantly a second-string unit must be worrying for Dan Quinn.Replacing Jones and Neal is going to be as difficult as most imagined. Duke Riley missed multiple tackles and struggled to diagnose runs. The coaching staff will have to live with some mistakes, as they hope his talent eventually breaks through. It’s difficult to feel confident about his chances of playing a key role in containing Alvin Kamara next week. The same applies to Damontae Kazee, who may spend further time on the sidelines. His despicable hit on Cam Newton warranted an ejection. Considering how much time coaches put into tackling Black Grady Jarrett Jersey , it’s a terrible look for the rising safety. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him receive a one-game suspension. Looking AheadThe NFC South fun continues next week, as New Orleans comes to town to reignite the best rivalry in football. Both teams haven’t started out the season as well as they expected. Losing to Tampa Bay and barley beating Cleveland isn’t something Sean Payton envisioned two weeks ago. One of the most complete teams in football last season have looked vulnerable defensively. That should bode well for an offense that didn’t miss a beat without Devonta Freeman. If they can average between 24 to 31 points per week, the loss of Jones and Neal will slightly diminish. That is obviously easier said than done. At least it has been proven against a division rival known for their defensive fortitude. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers gave us a riddle to solve after their loss to Washington this week. Tampa Bay had 501 yards of offense, averaged 7.5 yards per play, converted 60 percent of their third downs ... and only finished with three points. That seems just about impossible, but it makes a little more sense when you realize they had four turnovers today on their 10 possessions. Here’s how the Bucs managed to pull it off... Ryan Fitzpatrick averaged almost 10 yards per attempt against Washington, but he had two costly turnovers as Tampa Bay was cruising into scoring territory. His first interception came when Tampa Bay was on Washington’s 19-yard line — an errant pass that landed in the hands of Josh Norman. On the second interception, Fitzpatrick stared down tight end O.J. Howard. Washington rookie Greg Stroman was able to jump in front of the pass for an interception on Tampa Bay’s 37-yard line before returning it to the 14-yard line.On the drive after the second interception, running back Jacquizz Rodgers fumbled the ball right after breaking into the red zone. That was the second time in the game Tampa Bay turned the ball over after getting inside Washington’s 20-yard line.To follow up the drive with the fumble, Tampa Bay fumbled again after driving the ball 80 yards down the field all the way to Washington’s 2-yard line. Ryan Kerrigan and Preston Smith worked together to get a strip sack on Ryan Fitzpatrick. The best and worst from Week 10Monday Morning Pleighbook: The Titans destroyed the Patriots and trolled them along the wayPlayoff picture: How Week 10’s results shaped the postseason raceEmbarrassment of the week: The Jets have reached a new level of humiliation The 10 dumbest mistakes from Week 10, rankedLET AARON DONALD RUN THE DAMN BALL! Tampa Bay had five possessions after halftime — a missed field goal, an interception, a fumble, another fumble, and then a one-play drive at the end when the game was out of reach. After the game, Bucs head coach Dirk Koetter said he took over the playcalling for the game. It’s not fair to place the blame of the turnovers on Koetter — Tampa Bay did have 501 yards today — but it is a bit funny that a team that was averaging 28.6 points per game (eighth in the NFL entering Week 10) scored three points after Koetter took the reins back. It’s hard to score points with turnovers that come in scoring range. Three turnovers in the red zone is almost impossible to overcome. Now, the 501 yards resulting in the three points makes much more sense.
the Boston Celtics, who were widely considered Authentic Matt Ryan Jersey an Eastern Conference favorite, have a 7-6 record, tied with the Charlotte Hornets. And the team is starting to sense something’s off. After a 1-4 road trip ended with a 100-94 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, Kyrie Irving had a pair of cryptic quotes for the media. “We’re not as good as we think we are,” Irving said. “That’s what it comes down to.” That’s a tough statement from the team’s point guard, but not nearly as bizarre as what he followed up with. “Right now I think it would be nice if we had someone that was a 15-year vet” Irving said. “A 14-year vet that could kind of help us race along the regular season and understand it’s a long marathon rather than just a full-on sprint.”Oh?Does Irving mean to throw shade with this quote?Irving’s quote could mean everything or nothing — we remember the round-Earth quotes after all. But it’s extremely strange for him to request for a vet of that age for two reasons: He just left LeBron James’ team on his own will, and Al Horford, his co-star has played for 12 years. The two years off from his benchmark 14 or 15 can’t make that much of a difference.Irving referenced Aron Baynes and Al Horford being considered vets alongside himself in the sentence leading up to his request, as if to say they weren’t old enough to fill that role. So he didn’t completely ignore them Womens De'Vondre Campbell Jersey , but what’s he getting at? In fact, there are a number of players in the Celtics’ rotation who have been in the league for a while:Aron Baynes is in Year 7Marcus Morris is in Year 8Gordon Hayward is in Year 9Al Horford is in Year 12What does a 14 or 15-year vet have that those guys don’t? What is Irving searching for? How will the locker room react? There’s more questions than answers in Irving’s postgame quote. Can the Celtics turn this ship around?Boston’s had a tough start to the season with a difficult schedule, Hayward returning from serious injury and Jayson Tatum suffering from a bit of a sophomore slump. Luckily, the schedule gets a bit easier towards the end of November. Out of 10 games, four of them are against some of the league’s worst teams: the Knicks, Hawks, Bulls, and Mavericks. Hopefully at that point, head coach Brad Stevens can make the right adjustments to get this contending roster back on track.Because the vibes surrounding this team are hinting that the wheels may come off sooner rather than later.Falcons-Eagles post-game injury report: Keanu Neal suffers knee injury, is knocked out of game The Atlanta Falcons played a sloppy game tonight and couldn’t pull off the win. The ending was eerily similar to what we witnessed in the playoffs last season. We’ll have 10 long days to break down the loss and furiously smash the panic button. But there were lots of injuries worth mentioning tonight. So let’s break ‘em down! Keanu Neal went down in the second quarter with what appeared to be a knee injury. He was defending Zach Ertz and seemingly misstepped Womens Mohamed Sanu Jersey , tweaking his knee. It was a non-contact injury; he fell to the ground, got some attention from the trainers, and went into the medical tent. Damontae Kazee replaced him but a few plays later, Neal had his helmet back on, ready to get reenter the game. Here’s where we enter a gray area. He was back in the game before the end of the second quarter. Neal subsequently re-aggravated that injury early in the second half and was ruled out. Why’d they put him back in the game? That’s a question that will need to be answered in the days ahead. Vic Beasley took a hit to the head late in the first half and underwent a concussion evaluation on the sideline. He ultimately came back into the game. The third quarter got real messy. Takk McKinley went down with what looked to be a left knee or leg injury. (He was pointing at the area under his left knee while the trainers evaluated him.) He returned but seemed to re-aggravate the same injury late in the fourth quarter. A couple plays later Desmond Trufant went down with what appeared to be cramping. Het got an IV and came back into the game. Deion Jones landed awkwardly while pursuing the ball carrier a few plays later. He had trouble standing and was forced to sit out a play, notwithstanding his attempts to stay in. Austin Hooper and Devonta Freeman sustained knee injuries in the second half. Freeman was seen walking back and forth on the sideline, favoring his right knee. He earned a questionable designation. Hooper took a direct hit to his knee after a big reception. He too wanted to stay in the game but they subbed him out. Lots of injuries to keep an eye on. Neal’s appears to be the most serious. I’d be shocked if you’re in a good mood reading this. Keep your heads up, Falcoholics.

Miami's Kenyan Drake had seven catches for 69 yards, including 22-yard TD, to go along with six runs for 46 yards. Questionable roughing the passer penalties have been the talk of the NFL this season, and Steelers outside linebacker T.J.
A lot of us expected the Bears to win.The way the Lions lost Womens Graham Glasgow Jersey , however, is completely demoralizing. Johnson, however http://www.thelionsfootballauthentic.com/t.j.-lang-jersey-authentic , has not been a reason. Coupled with a poor job of pursuit, Davis took the mantle from Teez Tabor of worst 2017 draft pick of the day.Stock Up: Cody Parkey, KPeople will argue that Parkey was bad today. While I cannot speak for the players http://www.thelionsfootballauthentic.com/ricky-wagner-jersey-authentic , I have to imagine that morale is low.Theo Riddick, RB: The Lions have been using Riddick as their Golden Tate replacement, to mixed results. Essentially no one on this Lions team has made plays like that.Charles Washington, S: Washington hasn’t made an impact on defense this season (which you could argue is a good thing), but he made a superb play on special teams. When the Lions attempted an onside kick, Washington managed to swat the ball away from the return man, which Nick Bellore promptly fell on.Matt Prater, K: He made a solid 52-yarder, but unlike Parkey http://www.thelionsfootballauthentic.com/christian-jones-jersey-authentic , he did not manage to hit any uprights.Stock down:Everyone else: I am doing something different for this stock report, but hear me out.The team’s struggles against the Bears were not due to a single player. They managed one special teams penalty this week, and while this is an improvement Womens Ricky Jean Francois Jersey , it is still a troubling sign. Meanwhile, when considering a 55-yard field goal, one member of the kicking unit was late, so the Lions called a timeout. The Lions then opted to punt, pinning the Bears at the 9. They promptly went 91 yards for a touchdown. Even the successful onside kick was not without complication—that was actually the second attempt at an onside kick, since the previous failed attempt was nullified due to an illegal formation on Diggs that was offset by Miller intentionally batting the ball out of bounds. It’s showtime in the Bay Area. The New York Giants travel to Levi’s Stadium to face the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football. It will be an epic battle between a 1-7 team and a 2-7 team. The playoffs are likely out of the question for both squads, so they will instead battle for the hearts of millions.Just kidding. I’ll probably end up playing Fortnite instead. But for those of you brave souls willing to sit through this duel of doormats, there are plenty of storylines to be had.Rookie of the Year front-runner Saquon Barkley headlines the struggling Giants. The second-overall pick in the 2018 Draft has accumulated 519 rushing yards on 111 carries, while adding 58 catches for 497 yards. Odell Beckham Jr., meanwhile, continues to be one of the elite receivers in the league. Can these two stars carry the Giants to victory?Meanwhile, the 49ers are a team battered by injury. Their starting quarterback will be Jimmy Garoppolo C.J. Beathard Nick Mullens. A 2017 undrafted free agent out of Southern Mississippi, Mullens shined in relief last week, completing 16 of 22 passes for 262 yards and three touchdowns — a near-perfect quarterback rating of 151.9. He was even verified on Twitter mid-game. It came at the expense of the pitiful Oakland Raiders, however, so it remains to be seen if he can sustain that level of success. The biggest story, though, is Giants quarterback Eli Manning. In what could be his final prime time game, can he manage to create another iconic Manning face? Come chat with us as we suffer together!
laiyongcai92 a posté un sujet dans Discussions GénéralesThe backup quarterback job has been settled. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport http://www.thelionsfootballauthentic.com/devon-kennard-jersey-authentic , former Michigan quarterback and Detroit Lions’ fifth-round pick Jake Rudock will be cut by the team.Rudock entered the offseason as the favorite for the backup job, but as soon as the Lions signed Matt Cassel this free agency, it was clear his job was in jeopardy. All throughout training camp, it seemed like Rudock was slowly losing his grasp on the backup quarterback job. He threw a pretty awful pick-six in the New York Giants joint practices, and played it overly safe in the preseason. Though he mounted a nice fourth-quarter comeback in the Lions’ dress rehearsal game against the Buccaneers, it wasn’t enough to save his job. Rudock is still technically practice squad eligible, but after winning the backup job last year Youth LeGarrette Blount Jersey , it seems the Lions may be ready to move on. This means the backup quarterback job belongs to veteran Matt Cassel, who has worked alongside Matt Patricia back in his days with the Patriots. Of course, the Lions could always decide to add a different quarterback, perhaps one cut by another team, but for now, Cassel is the backup.Matt Patricia on Anthony Zettel cut: ‘We can’t keep everybody’ It was a move that shocked many in the Detroit Lions fanbase. On Wednesday, the Lions released defensive end Anthony Zettel http://www.lionscheapstore.com/ricky-wagner-jersey-cheap , who analysts believed was secure on Detroit’s 53-man roster after surviving Saturday’s cuts. Known to be a hard worker, Zettel was a sixth-round 2016 NFL Draft pick who spent two seasons with the Lions. He was also known for giving his best, which may not been enough to fit into Lions head coach Matt Patricia’s new defensive scheme. Zettel recorded one sack and 13 combined tackles in 13 games his rookie year. In 2017, he became a full-time starter, tallying 43 combined tackles and ranking second among Detroit defenders with 6.5 sacks.Patricia briefly touched on Zettel’s release during a presser Friday. He didn’t elaborate much on the decision, insisting the team is focused on Monday night’s game right now, but he did say this:With the cut came the addition of Romeo Okwara http://www.lionscheapstore.com/t.j.-lang-jersey-cheap , a defensive end waived by the New York Giants. When asked what Romeo could give them that Zettel couldn’t, Patricia said it’s not a direct comparison, one versus the other. The Lions had a chance to get a good look at Romeo during joint practice with the Giants in mid-August. What Patricia noticed in Romeo is a player with good length, good pad level and the ability to play strong. He believes Romeo has the skill set to be a versatile player from a multiple-level position. As of Friday, Zettel’s already been claimed by the Cleveland Browns and added to their 53-man roster. The team said goodbye to defensive ends Nate Orchard and Carl Nassib in Saturday’s roster cuts. The next time the Lions are expected to face the Browns again is in 2021.
laiyongcai92 a posté un sujet dans Discussions GénéralesLet’s just say it. That was likely the worst Detroit Lions preseason performance we’ve seen in some time... maybe ever. From Game 1 to Game 4 Youth Marvin Jones Jr Jersey , the highlights were few and far between, and the Lions looked overmatched in just about every single quarter of every single game. They were outscored 111-77. They were outgained 1401-1125. And the differences were even more drastic when you focus on the players that actually may still be around next week. In the first halves of each game, the Lions were outscored 68-16. The Lions’ first string offense scored a total of nine points in eight drives, while the starting defense gave up 31. But how much should the Lions be worried? Backup quarterback Matt Cassel knows the preseason can be very misleading. “I’ve been through a lot of different preseasons over my 14-year career. There has been teams where we are 0-4 and look like a disaster and we end up going 11-5,” Cassel said after Thursday’s loss to the Browns. And he isn’t exaggerating. In 2008, the New England Patriots went 0-4 in the preseason, getting outscored 89-56 in four games. During the regular season, even after losing Tom Brady in the first game of the regular season, Cassel still led the Patriots to an 11-5 season (though, they actually missed the playoffs that year). And just looking at last year, performances varied wildly from preseason to regular season. The Lions’ defense was especially bad this preseason, so let’s take a look at the really bad defenses from the 2017 preseason. Here are the bottom five in terms of scoring defense:32. Patriots (31.5 PPG)31. Chargers (25.8 PPG)30. Giants (24.8 PPG)29. Dolphins (24.5 PPG)28. 49ers (23.8 PPG)Now let’s look at where those five teams finished in the regular season:Patriots: 5th (+27), 18.5 PPG (-13)Chargers: 3rd (+28), 17.0 PPG (-8.8)Giants: 27th (+3) Womens Taylor Decker Jersey , 24.2 PPG (-0.3)Dolphins: 29th (no change), 24.6 PPG (+0.1)49ers: 25th (+3), 23.9 PPG (+0.1)You can see there’s very little correlation. While the Dolphins and 49ers finished with similar stats in the regular season, the Patriots and Chargers were far better in the regular season. Now let’s look at the best five defenses from the 2017 preseason:1. Browns (7.2 PPG)2. Ravens (8.0 PPG)3. Saints (10.2 PPG)4. Broncos (12.5 PPG)5. Seahawks (14.0 PPG)And how did those teams finish in the regular season?Browns: 31st (-30), 25.6 PPG (+18.4)Ravens: 6th (-4), 18.9 PPG (+10.9)Saints: 10th (-7), 20.4 PPG (+10.2)Broncos: 22nd (-18), 23.9 PPG (+11.4)Seahawks: 13th (+8), 20.8 PPG (+6.8)All five teams clearly game up a lot more points per game during the regular season. And while some remained a top 10 defense, others fell significantly. That’s all to say, the preseason holds almost no predictive value for regular season defensive performances. Of course, that doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be some worries. The Lions didn’t get much inspiring play from the players they expect to be starters. Detroit didn’t have a cornerback not named Darius Slay play well during the entire preseason. The defense didn’t notch its second sack of the preseason until there was only two minutes left in the finale. The offensive line depth looks much thinner than previously hoped. And hopeful candidates to improve this year—Jarrad Davis, A’Shawn Robinson, Teez Tabor and Michael Roberts—have all severely underwhelmed this August. These are all legitimate concerns to have entering the 2018 season http://www.thelionsfootballauthentic.com/glover-quin-jersey-authentic , but what’s important is that the concerns going in are not always the concerns coming out. Let’s hope this is the case moving forward.Lions notes: Quandre Diggs wins NFL’s inaugural ‘Way to Play’ award With its new rules attempting to cut down on brain injuries, the NFL is doing all it can to promote what they consider proper tackling form. That includes educational videos on what is and is not a foul and threatening helmet-first contact not only with fines and penalties, but possible ejection, as we saw with Colts defender Shamarko Thomas, who was thrown out of the game last weekend for this hit.Another thing the league is doing is reinforcing and rewarding proper hitting technique. Thursday, the NFL announced on their network show “Good Morning Football” that Detroit Lions defensive back Quandre Diggs won the first ever “Way To Play” weekly award. Here’s how the league describes the award:Diggs won the award not for his phenomenal pick-six that kicked off Monday night’s contest with the Jets, but for a solid tackle he made on Jets receiver Quincy Enunwa. Here’s the segment from Thursday morning:Diggs doesn’t just get a pat on the back for his performance, he’s also rewarded a $2,500 equipment grant to the youth football program of his own choosing. Justin Rogers of The Detroit News has five observations from Monday night’s coaches film (with GIFs!). Solid breakdown of what went right and wrong against the New York Jets. This webcomic is a little too real: Here’s an update on a couple of former Lions/wannabe Lions. Johnathan Hankins has officially signed with the Oakland Raiders. Meanwhile, former Lions wide receiver Jace Billingsley was cut from the Patriots’ practice squad. Brandon Thorn did a GIF thread of his own Lions - Jets film breakdown. Needless to say there’s a lot of bad stuff in there, but here’s one good, and one bad play from the Lions’ point of view: What does Glover Quin’s cut in playing time mean for his future? Dave Birkett pulled some quotes from Quin and Matt Patricia this week on the topic. Former Lions offensive tackle Brian Mihalik has a new home:
